FAQ's for D3 Parents

1. What time does school start?
The first bell rings at 7:55 AM, and the tardy bell rings at 8:05.

2. When are D3's special classes?
We have Specials from 8:10 to 9:00.

3. What is Daily 5?
Daily 5 consists of the following:  Read to Self, Read to Someone, Listen to Reading, Work on Writing, and Word Work.  The students engage in these activities while the teacher leads Guided Reading groups each day.  D3's designated Guided Reading time is from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

4. What time does D3 eat lunch?
D3 has lunch recess at 11:50 and eats lunch from 12:10 to 12:30.
5. What is "alternate lunch?"
Alternate lunch is a choice offered if the student does not want the hot lunch menu choice.  It usually consists of yogurt and a cheese stick along with the regular fruit or vegetable offered.
6. What is Double lunch?
Older students may order a lunch with an extra portion and will be charged accordingly.
7. When does school end?
The dismissal bell rings at 3:10 p.m.
